Oceanide has built the first ever (model) MSPAR! This prototype was tested during a three-week campaign in the Oceanide facilities in Toulon France, March 2022. The model was used to test all the main characteristics of the tow, installation and the inplace condition for waves, current and wind loads.
The MSPAR is a new foundation developed by MonobaseWind for large offshore wind turbines based on a combination of existing and proven offshore technologies. The foundation and turbine can be completely assembled inshore and towed to the installation site where it will be installed by a ballasting operation without the need for any bespoke vessel or a lifting system.
