Orca offshore and MarineObjects have designed, build and installed a motion monitoring unit for the transport of the Jack-up barge “Odin” from Bremenhaven to Lima.
The system logs all motions, accelerations and position of the tow and transmits this data to the tug for their daily report. The motion monitoring system relies on its own power generation for the 50 days tow using solar cells and a wind turbine.
The unit is protected from the environment and has been built from RVS with all the sensitive electronics in a IP66 RVS junction box. For easy mobilisation the unit has been mounted on a RVS pallet with lifting eyes.
