IQIP developed tools to install secondary steel and anode cages on a monopile. Some of these secondary steel items will have wave loading during transition to the correct location and during connection of these items.
A motion analysis was required to verify the forces on the tools due to passing the splash zone and beyond.
Orca offshore has modelled various stages of the of the lifting processes to determine the design loads and to find the optimum geometry of the system for the various lift modes of the tool.
The system has been modelled in MOSES utilizing time domain analysis on a multibody dynamic model to derive the motions and internal loads of the tool and the lift system.
