Orca Offshore was commissioned to perform all naval architectural analysis for the installation of three suction pile founded wellhead jackets and topsides offshore east Malaysia, for a Malaysian Oil company.

The jackets were transported by cargo barge, then lifted, upended and lowered onto the seabed using the Asian Hercules III, operated by Asian Lift (Boskalis). The Perdana Emerald served as construction support and accommodation vessel in the field.

Orca Offshore’ s scope of work:

  1. Jacket and topside marine transport analysis
  2. In-field mooring design and analysis for the Asian Hercules III and Perdana Emerald
  3. Static jacket upend analysis
  4. Jacket dynamic lift and upend analysis
  5. Topside dynamic lift analysis

Each stage of the transport and installation was analyzed in Bentley MOSES, using analysis procedures developed by Orca Offshore. Installation of all three platforms was completed in the first quarter of 2026.

For the offshore operation the OMF system has been used to verify the operational limits and to help to understand the weather forecasts. Input for the OMF system was the dynamic lift analysis results, the operational planning and the weather forecast. Combining all this data and presenting it life overlaying the operational planning proved to be a great help to support the Go/NoGo decision.
